As of 31st October 2020, I would like to intimate that I will be stepping down as Club President of Lochee United F.C
I feel that this is the right time to do so as the club prepares for another chapter in its history.
I have been President for almost 28 years and have enjoyed some fantastic times, the club winning 19 trophies and seeing us become one of the most respected clubs in Scottish Junior football.
When I first joined the club back in 1992, it was struggling to survive and on the brink of closure. With hard work and some personnel changes, we gradually steadied the ship and became a force to be reckoned with in the Tayside leagues and beyond.
It's been an honour and a privilege to have held such a position for so long, especially with being born in 'Tipperary' and growing up in Charleston.
I would sincerely like to thank my family, all the various committee members, managers, members of the coaching staff, players, sponsors, ground staff, volunteers, all our loyal supporters and of course the Bluebell Ladies, for everything they have given to our beloved club.
Although I will no longer be President, I will still be actively involved in helping Lochee United stay at the forefront of Junior football. In the coming days we will have some exciting news to announce as the club moves onwards and upwards.
“Oh, the bluebells are blue”.
