23rd September 2017 Lochee Go Top

Lochee United won today's Super League fixture 4-2 at home to Kennoway Star Hearts. Goals in the 22nd and 25th minutes from Connor Birse and Grant Lawson gave Lochee the perfect start and were unlucky not to be futher ahead only good goalkeeping and defending plus the woodwork kept the score at 2-0 at halftime. Three minutes into the second half Dougie Cameron curled in a sweet left foot strike from a free kick to put the Bluebells 3-0 up. Lochee conceeded a goal on 63 minutes after the ball took a wicked deflection to elude Fonzie and bring the visitors back into the match. Then they were awarded a soft penalty in the 83rd minute which they converted. Game on 3-2 to Lochee and suddenly KSH were pushing for an equaliser. Greg Kirk has a header come off the underside of the bar and cleared. With the game in injury time Reece Ritchie scores the goal of the game when he chips the goalie from around 35 yards out to make it 4-2 and put Lochee top of the league. Overall we had more than enough chances particulary in the first half to put the game out of sight but credit to KSH who never gave up and battled to the end. Another good three points.
