Lochee United swept aside the Swifts with a very professional performance winning 4-0 at Riverside Stadium. A deserved penalty on 30 minutes when Reece Ritchie was brought down in the box was dispatched by Bryan Deasley to put Lochee ahead. Before that Lochee had controlled the game and were unlucky not to have scored before that point. Second half saw the home side dominating for the first 15 minutes with Lochee dangerous on the break. Deasley got his and Lochee's second goal when he headed home a nice cross ball from Deane. Five minutes later the game was over after local boy Paddy Deane headed home Lochee's third goal from a McComiskie cross. Deane and Ritchie were then subbed five minutes later, their days work was done with both boys having played well. On came Logan Davie and Connor Birse and it was only a couple of minutes later when the home keeper manged to get the tip of his fingers to deny Birse what looked like a certain goal when his header from a excellent Lawson cross was tipped over the bar. The best move of the game came with some neat interplay between Cameron, Davie and Lawson who sent over a peach of a ball for Birse to head home Lochee's fourth goal. Final score a well deserved 4-0 to Lochee United.
A very polished team performance with Craig Smith and Greg Kirk absolutely solid in central defence. Reece Ritchie and Dougie Cameron controlling the middle of the park with Lawson and McComiskie causing no end of trouble down the wings. Big Paddy and Deasley gave their back four a hard time. McNally as ever gave 100% with Webster showing what a quality player he is. Jordan Miller between the sticks did was what asked and has now got his third successive clean sheet. However my man of the goes to match Scot Webster.
Well done management and players.
