In searing heat Lochee comfortably saw off previously unbeaten Brechin Vics at Victoria Park. The goals flowed today with five coming in the first half. Logan Davie started the rout scoring in the first minute, this was followed by an own goal from a Logan Davie cross ball. Danny Cavanagh was played in and coolly lobbed the keeper for the third goal on 17 minutes. Good work down the left hand side and a lovely cut back gave Kevin Buchan his goal and Lochee’s fourth on 31 minutes. Ewan Murray got the fifth on 40 minutes after giving the keeper no chance from a tight angle. Halftime 0-5 with Lochee dominating the game.

Second half was only 6 minutes old and Danny Cavanagh got his second of the day and Lochee’s sixth on 51 minutes following another lovely cut back to him, he made no mistake with his finishing. Kevin Milne who came on at halftime smashed home a cracking strike to make it seven three minutes after Cavanagh scored.

With a wee lull after that goal Lochee’s Calvin Colqhoun buried a fantastic header to make it eight on 76 minutes. The ninth and final goal went to Kev Milne who grabbed his second on 85 minutes.

Good all round performance in a game we controlled from start to finish. Ross Gallacher and Josh McKelvie got their first minutes on a pitch since their Covid issues when they both came on in the second half. That was another bonus for the club and the players. Well done management and players.
