Lochee United vs East Craigie – Match Preview

August has been a long hard month for the club with eight games having to be played. Tomorrow will be our seventh league match and last week saw us progressing to the second round of the Scottish Junior Cup following a good 4-1 away win at Bridge of Don Thistle. The league games have all resulted in wins and tomorrow’s visit from East Craigie will test us to keep this run going.

The Shipbuilders have a very good side with probably some of the best youngsters in our area playing for them and will not be phased about coming to Thomson Park.

Craigie have played ten games winning eight, drawing one and losing one. The match they lost was down at Carnoustie Panmure and they were very unlucky not to take anything from the game. Down 2-0 early in the game, it looked as though Carnoustie would stroll to the three points. However, they settled and took the game by the scruff of the neck and it was no surprise when they pulled the two goals back and were well on top going into the last 15 minutes looking for that third goal to try and kill the game.

Fate then took hold when they had a player sent off and the dynamic changed from that point, they went on to lose the match 5-2 but that was never a true reflection of the game.

Without a doubt, we must be at our best to meet this challenge and I’m sure the Gaffer has his game plan ready. Our injury list is not reducing which makes it difficult but they have issues as well on that front.

The game kicks off at 2.30pm Adults £6.00 Concessions £3.00
